In 2014 Preservation Iowa in Coordination with the Annual Iowa Historic Country School Conference started the Mini Grant Initiative. This Grant funding was established through the attendance of the Annual Country School Conference. The purpose of this grant was to aid Preservation Efforts in the preservation of Historic one and two room school houses, grounds, or educational efforts within preserved Country Schools.
This year in 2016 we are pleased to announce that we received 12 applications for this the 3rd Round of the Mini-Grant. The funding available for this year’s grant was $1,200. This year our judging panel reached a consensus to fund 3 out of 12 submitted projects. We will add at this time that all projects received were great examples of important historic infrastructure to be preserved and encourage continued work on all projects.
