Narrative(s)
Due to the non-historic alterations to the first story and to the interior, the building is no longer individually eligible for its historic entertainment associations. However, due to the integrity of the character-defining upper façade wall, it might contribute to a downtown commercial historic district. Does not appear on the 1924 Sanborn Map, where a dwelling is shown at this location. The theater building first appears on the 1948 Sanborn. Original plans and photographs are available in the Liebenberg and Kaplan collection at the Northwest Architectural Archives in Minnesota. The Vista was originally operated by Pioneer Theatres until Fridley took over. Fridley Theatres expanded the theatre to three screens in the late 80s.
