Volunteer
Preservation Iowa is a volunteer-driven organization, relying on the dedication of our Board of Directors and volunteers to carry out our mission of preserving Iowa’s historic resources. We welcome inquiries from anyone interested in serving on the Board of Directors or joining a committee that supports our work – whether now or in the future. Whatever your interest or expertise, there are many meaningful opportunities to get involved and make a lasting impact on historic preservation in Iowa.
Additionally, you can make a meaningful impact in your community by volunteering with local historic preservation efforts. Opportunities include serving on a historic preservation commission, supporting nonprofit preservation groups, or assisting organizations that salvage historic materials. Not sure what’s available in your area? Check with your city or county government, explore the business directory and additional resources on Preservation Iowa’s website, or contact us directly to connect with preservation organizations and advocates in your community. Your time and expertise help protect and celebrate the unique historic character of your town while contributing to preservation efforts across the state.
